Sunshine Smiles After the Rain Storm

Posted on

Yesterday, God really surprised us with a raging rain storm in the afternoon. On our way to our second church for our second VBS, the rain picked up and it even began to hail.  It was a bit scary driving in a van through such a rain storm, especially after passing vehicles stuck in flooded roads.  Our team (team #1) prayed for the Lord’s protection to make it back safely, and for those stuck in their flooded vehicles.

The storm changed our plans for that afternoon, but it also made that day interesting and different.  Sometimes God changes our plans or the direction of our lives, and we’ve been learning to accept and be joyful with the Lord’s guidance.

Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. – Proverbs 19:21

A current new change we have been dealing with is adjusting to being separated into two teams for practically the whole day.  The first week our whole group really bonded and enjoyed serving together. God is good, and our team (team #1) feels blessed for each member and what they bring to the whole. This second week is starting to weigh on some of us, especially the tiredness. The strength God gives us each day has been such a blessing, and has allowed us all to work so well.

Just to see how God is using each one of us to share Christ and what it means to be a disciple of Christ with children is amazing.  You know the Lord is at work when you hear the children recite the memory verse, and everything you teach them.  Their excitement and smiles is such a beautiful thing to experience, and we can’t even imagine what the Lord is doing in each one of their lives.

Praise God for those children’s smiles and sweet hearts!

Praise God as well for His strength manifested in our lives each day!
